Full Colour embroidery with DTG printing
Full Colour embroidery at AJDN is a hybrid method. We first embroider the complete logo in white cotton thread, then use our DTG printer to apply the full-colour image over that cotton embroidery surface. The result combines tactile stitch structure with fine colour gradients and extensive colour detail.

What is Full Colour embroidery?
Full Colour embroidery at AJDN is not conventional embroidery made with many different coloured threads. First, the entire logo is built as one accurate foundation in white cotton thread. We then print the complete colour image directly over this cotton embroidery with our Direct to Garment printer.
DTG printing is particularly effective on a light, 100% cotton substrate. We apply that same principle to the embroidered area. The cotton thread provides a light, printable textile surface; the stitches create relief, while the DTG layer adds colour, shadow, small nuances and gradual transitions.
The appearance is therefore different from both a flat garment print and traditional multi-colour embroidery. You can see and feel the embroidered structure, while the design can contain more shades and smoother transitions than would normally be practical using separate thread colours alone.

Artwork and garment assessment
We review the file, detail level, dimensions, garment, placement and quantity. Fine text, outlines and colour information are checked for the combined embroidery and DTG process.
Embroidery file for white cotton
The entire logo is digitised for white cotton thread. Stitch density, underlay and direction are planned to create a stable, even printing surface.
Embroidery and positioning
We embroider the white foundation and position it for the DTG printer. Precise registration is essential for the printed design and embroidered outline to meet correctly.
DTG print and quality control
The full-colour artwork is printed over the cotton embroidery and fixed appropriately. We then inspect coverage, colour, alignment, edges and the overall finish.

When should you choose Full Colour embroidery?
This method suits logos and illustrations with several colours, shadows or subtle gradients when the design also needs clear, tactile textile structure. Applications can include limited editions, premium merchandise, streetwear, teamwear and distinctive brand details on stable T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies or other suitable products.
Every artwork and garment behaves differently. Very small lettering, extremely thin lines, stretchy areas, heavy seams or an undersized embroidery area can affect registration and legibility. We therefore assess the combination in advance and recommend a production sample. Wash performance and colour perception also depend on the design, textile, treatment and use.
If you need a flat image without embroidered relief, standard Direct to Garment printing may be more logical. For a logo built from separate solid thread colours, conventional garment embroidery is often more efficient. Full Colour embroidery is selected when the combination of tactile relief and a full-colour image adds real value.

How does AJDN create Full Colour embroidery?
We first embroider the shape in white cotton thread and then print the colour image over that white embroidery with DTG, combining texture with many colours.
Why do you use white cotton thread?
White provides a neutral base, while cotton is suitable for the DTG ink. This helps build colour and detail on the embroidered surface.
Is Full Colour embroidery the same as multicolour embroidery?
No. In traditional embroidery, every colour is thread. Here, the colour comes from a DTG print applied over a white cotton embroidery base.
Can photographs and gradients be used?
Gradients and complex artwork are possible, but the embroidered texture affects very fine details. We review the design and normally recommend a sample.
Which garments and sizes suit this technique?
AJDN recommends cotton and a front or back position. The practical maximum is approximately 30 × 30 cm; every design and garment is technically checked first.
